The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect thousands of families in Mexico with economic impacts. Faced with this situation, Ford of Mexico started its engines in a commitment to helping those in the country who need help the most.
Proyecto Mexico was activated in 2020 to support various needs generated by the pandemic, carrying out efforts such as donations of groceries, transportation of food, the donation of face masks, consolidation and delivery of medicines and fleet use optimization. That work continues in 2021 as Proyecto Mexico works to help Mexican society.
For example, in the municipality of Irapuato, it is estimated that 45% of the economically active population works in the fields, a sector that is constantly affected economically. A grocery donation from the Ford Motor Company Fund, our global philanthropic arm, will reach 1,400 people, members of families living in the Ernesto Che Guevara and El Carrizal communities. Distribution of the donation was coordinated by Alimentos de México, Compartir, AC and Fondo Unido Mexico.
