Team,

We continue to be saddened by the heartbreaking situation in Ukraine. As part of the global community, we are deeply concerned about the invasion of Ukraine and the resultant threats to peace and stability. While we don’t have significant operations in Ukraine, we do have a strong contingent of Ukrainian nationals working at Ford around the world.  We will continue to support them through this period and the Ford Fund is donating $100,000 to provide humanitarian relief to Ukrainian citizens and families displaced by this crisis.

We do have operations in Russia, including a minority Joint Venture called Sollers Ford, which manufactures Transit for sale in Russia. We have been on a path of rationalizing these operations for some time, including the transition to minority ownership of the JV and closure of three of our four manufacturing plants, in July 2019. Given the current situation, we have today informed our joint venture partners that we are suspending our operations in Russia, effective immediately, and until further notice.

Although this will affect our JV partners and the JV employees, this is the right choice as we live our Ford values and support our global community.

Let’s continue to keep our colleagues and all those impacted in this crisis in our thoughts.

Thank you,

Jim

As part of the global community, Ford is deeply concerned about the invasion of Ukraine and the resultant threats to peace and stability. The situation has compelled us to reassess our operations in Russia.  In recent years, Ford has significantly wound down its Russian operations, which now focus exclusively on commercial van manufacturing and Russian sales through a minority interest in the Sollers Ford joint venture. Given the situation, we have today informed our JV partners that we are suspending our operations in Russia, effective immediately, until further notice.

While we don’t have significant operations in Ukraine, we do have a strong contingent of Ukrainian nationals working at Ford around the world and we will continue to support them through this time.

Ford Fund is also making a $100,000 donation to the Global Giving Ukraine Relief Fund for humanitarian aid to assist Ukrainian citizens and families who have been displaced during this crisis.
