Ford Motor Company has been recognized as one of the 2022 Top Global Champions for Supplier Diversity & Inclusion by WEConnect International, in partnership with Disability:IN and the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
“We are thrilled to recognize these powerful global champions for serving as global leaders in taking action and being intentional about buying from diverse suppliers with the goal of driving greater socio-economic equity in communities worldwide,” said WEConnect International CEO & Co-Founder Elizabeth A. Vazquez.
The distinction recognizes some of the world’s largest corporations that have demonstrated their commitment to global inclusive sourcing from diverse groups including minority-, women-, LGBT- and disabled-owned businesses. This year’s awardees were honored in platinum, gold, silver, and bronze categories.
Ford Motor Company – the only OEM to make the list – was recognized in the Platinum category, which is described as “the top level of commitment to global supplier diversity and inclusion and the best of the best among the global champions in regard to inclusive spend, policies, and procedures.”
“We are so proud to receive this prestigious accolade. This is a much-needed victory as we strive to grow Ford’s spend with diverse businesses to 20% by the year 2030,” said Brian Lloyd, program manager, Ford Supplier Diversity & Inclusion. “Our Purchasing team is among the best in the world at supporting diverse businesses, and our cross-functional teams are becoming increasingly more active in providing opportunities to diverse businesses, which ultimately supports diverse communities, families, and individuals.”
