On behalf of the Ford Motor Company Fund, I would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson who passed away last week.

Lt. Col. Jefferson was a member of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen, decorated serviceman, educator, and lifelong Detroiter. Through the work of the Ford Fund, we were privileged to have known him, and are honored and grateful that he shared his story with all of us in the documentary Our Voices: Our Stories – The Tuskegee Airmen.

A man of valor and integrity, Lt. Col. Jefferson will forever be remembered as a true American hero.  At the Ford Fund, we celebrate his life, legacy and dedication to country and community.
