Every year in September, the Ford Motor Company Fund, the company’s philanthropic arm, rallies employees to support humanitarian efforts in Ford communities around the world that are facing food insecurity, poor healthcare, gaps in education, lack of housing or have other basic daily needs.

“We want to give employees meaningful ways to help strengthen communities and make a difference in people’s lives,” said Mary Culler, president, Ford Motor Company Fund.

This year, Ford is awarding $895,000 USD in grants to 126 community organizations in 30 countries.  Nominated by Ford employees from around the world, the groups will receive funding in support of their efforts focused on education, equity, economic and community development, health and basic needs programs.

In addition, Ford employees can nominate nonprofits and nongovernmental organizations to receive a grant up to $10,000 USD to help sustain or expand services they provide to communities.

Examples of nonprofit and nongovernmental organization projects supported during Global Caring Month 2022 include:

  • Assembling books, school supplies, toys and games for orphaned children in China
  • Cleaning and renovating facilities and assembling clothing donations at a center that supports migrant women and their children in Mexico
  • Packing and delivering food packages in the Philippines
  • Upgrading playground facilities, cleaning and landscaping at a school in Romania
  • Refurbishing and repairing facilities at a center for individuals with disabilities in Spain
  • Painting, cleaning and upgrading schools, children’s homes and community organizations in South Africa
  • Collecting, repairing and transporting donated bikes in the UK and Germany

Global Caring Month is a signature program of the Ford Volunteer Corps. Managed by Ford Fund, Ford Volunteer Corps is a global network of thousands of Ford employees and retirees who have logged more than 1.7 million hours volunteering across six continents since 2005.
