MADRID, Spain - Ford Spain employees hit the streets in the Madrid town of Majadahonda recently for a charity run to raise funds for children affected by Phelan-McDermid syndrome.

The “Run Like a Hero” event saw hundreds tackle either 5km or 10km routes. Ford was an official supporter of the event, and Cristina del Rey, Director of Communication at Ford

Iberia, cut the ribbon to start the race and presented prizes to the winners.

“Ford joined this event to help children affected by Phelan McDermid syndrome under the umbrella of our Park The Car program, and Mustang Mach-E had a big presence there.” Cristina said.

“In addition, Kuga PHEV, Puma and Focus models were on display at the Equinox mall where the race started, which gave visitors the opportunity to test our vehicles.”

Phelan-McDermid syndrome (PMS) is an extremely rare genetic disorder that affects the development and function of the brain and body. It is estimated there are 3,000 people globally who are affected by the condition, all of whom need additional care to support their daily lives.
