In 1992, National Nonprofit Day was established on August 17 by Congress as an opportunity for nonprofits to recognize and thank all the volunteers and community partners who contribute time, energy, and resources towards philanthropic causes.
For more than 70 years, the Ford Fund has worked shoulder to shoulder with nonprofit organizations to co-create solutions that move communities forward and upward. We are proud to acknowledge you, as Ford employee volunteers, in addition to our nonprofit partners and community leaders, for the passion that you all bring to service in the communities where Ford has roots.
Did you know?
Ford employees have contributed over 1.7 million hours toward volunteer efforts since 2005. The collective action of Ford volunteers, our nonprofit partners, and our community leaders has a lasting and positive impact on the communities we serve. See below to learn more about some of our nonprofit partners and how you can get involved.
How can Ford employees help?
Ford Fund has 590 active nonprofit partnerships which provide a wide range of opportunities to volunteer year-round in a community near you. Many service opportunities support Ford Fund’s three main focus impact areas of essential services, education for the future of work and entrepreneurship.
How do I get started?
Throughout the year, the Ford Volunteer Corps supports a number of opportunities for employees to engage with what’s most important to them in their communities. Opportunities include everything from packing and delivering food at local food banks, assisting with income tax filings, mentoring students and joining forces with our partners at Team Rubicon to help communities rebuild before, during and after natural disasters.
To learn more about these opportunities and others, or how to apply up to 16 hours of paid community service to a passion project in your community, reach out to the Ford Volunteer Corps today at volunteer@ford.com.
