On February 28, an EF1 tornado with wind gusts of 100 mph touched down northeast of Marshall, Michigan, just 100 miles west of Ford World Headquarters. The tornado track covered almost five miles, uprooting hundreds of trees and causing severe damage to homes, barns and power lines.
Within hours, Greyshirt volunteers from Team Rubicon, Ford and Ford Fund’s disaster relief partner, were on the ground assisting survivors, tarping roofs and removing fallen trees. One elderly woman in the area was trapped in her home due to fallen trees, and thanks to Team Rubicon, the trees were cleared right away.
