Ford is reviving the Capri nameplate as an all-electric vehicle for the European market.
The Ford Capri was designed to bring affordable sports coupe styling and performance to Ford’s European customers in the 1960s – similar to what Mustang did for Americans earlier that decade. Like Mustang, Capri – which was discontinued in 1986 – now has an all-electric model that will further help bring Ford into the electric vehicle future. Its return was announced today for European customers, and it is exactly how the iconic sports coupe would have evolved if production had continued beyond the 1980s.
