The Ford Capri was designed to bring affordable sports coupe styling and performance to Ford’s European customers in the 1960s – similar to what Mustang did for Americans earlier that decade. Like Mustang, Capri – which was discontinued in 1986 – now has an all-electric model that will further help bring Ford into the electric vehicle future. Its return was announced today for European customers, and it is exactly how the iconic sports coupe would have evolved if production had continued beyond the 1980s.

“If you want the perfect example of how Model e is transforming the Ford business in Europe, look no further than our new all-electric Ford Capri,” said Marin Gjaja, COO, Ford Model e. “A cutting-edge EV, designed and built in Europe – Capri has soul that can only come from a brand with genuine heritage.”
