The all-new Ford Mustang GTD is making its first official running appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed as it makes the famous 1.2-mile hill climb against other production supercars. The racing-inspired Mustang’s supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine is targeted to produce more than 800 horsepower. The Indulgent Blue-colored car will be making the run twice each day from Thursday, [July 11] through Sunday, [July 14].

The Indulgent Blue color is one of thousands available to Mustang GTD customers in addition to six standard paints. The Extended Color Palette allows customers to select a unique color based on their personal vision for their car, as well as offers a lock-out option that guarantees that one-of -a-kind hue is not available to other GTD buyers.

The next milestone for the Mustang GTD is a test run Nürburgring Nordschleife, where Ford is targeting a sub-seven-minute lap. More news about Mustang GTD, which is being billed as “the most advanced and audacious Mustang ever,” is expected to come next month in conjunction with Monterey Car Week.

Other new Fords on the hill

Several other new and exciting Ford vehicles will also be competing in the Goodwood climb. The new all-electric Ford Capri, revealed this week, will also make its global debut and the electric Ford SuperVan 4.2, fresh off a victory at Pikes Peak, will also be making the climb. Ford will also debut the Ford Raptor T1+ at the event. The truck has been purpose-built for Ford’s entry in next year’s Dakar Rally.
