What do Canadians love? Generally, you could say we love poutine, maple syrup, donuts, and hockey … but let’s add small trucks and SUVs we can take off-road to that list. In a perfect combination, more than 25,000 attendees at the recent Drive Festival in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, were able to walk around with their fresh-from-a-food-truck poutine and take in the game-changing Canadian debut of the new 2025 Ford Maverick and new 2025 Ford Bronco Sport.

Vehicles That Continue to Defy Expectations

The Ford Maverick continues to provide all the benefits of a truck without having to sacrifice efficiency and break the bank, while the Ford Bronco Sport brings improved off-road capability and unique customer experiences. Debuting during the festival’s opening press conference, media and content creators got the first look, along with those watching live on social, before the event was open to the public.

Both vehicles are important to the Canadian market. Ford remains Canada’s No. 1 truck seller, led by best-selling Ford F-Series and strong gains for Maverick with sales up 40% through August. Plus, Maverick Hybrid sales in Canada had its best-ever first half.

“Ford Maverick is a pickup truck for customers who didn’t know they need a truck,” said Mathieu Rompré, vehicle line program manager, Ford of Canada. “The 2025 Maverick is the best one yet – there is nothing else like it out there.”

A few highlights of what’s new for Maverick in 2025:

  • Maverick comes with Hybrid FWD standard
  • Towing tech enables customers to hitch and back up a trailer like a pro
  • It’s the smartest and most connected Maverick ever – features SYNC 4 with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 5G LTE modem enabling over-the-air updates to keep your truck up to date
  • TREMOR provides off-road capability for customers who need it
  • Maverick Lobo is a new street truck trim series inspired by mini-trucks of the late ‘90s and current personalization trends. It brings on-road performance, aggressive design, and value for urban streets all backed by Built Ford Tough standards

Ford Bronco Sport sales are up 3% through August in Canada, with the more off-road-capable model on the way. Plus, Ford brand SUV sales are up approximately 23% through August compared to last year.

“Four years ago, I don’t know if we shocked the world because it was probably the worst kept secret that Bronco was coming back, but I don’t think people were expecting us to bring Bronco back while launching the Bronco family with multiple vehicles, including Bronco Sport,” said Scott Kuzma, vehicle line product manager, Ford of Canada. “We’ve heard the feedback over the years from our customers and enthusiasts, and we have incorporated that into the redesigned 2025 Bronco Sport.”

A few highlights of what’s new for Bronco in 2025:

  • The high-performance Sasquatch Off-Road Package is now available for Bronco Sport Badlands and Outer Banks models
  • All models come standard with large 13.2-inch touchscreen with the SYNC 4 system and Bronco Raptor-inspired 12.3-inch digital instrument display
  • Unmistakable Bronco style and capability with new modular, accessory-ready steel front and rear bumpers, available interior grab handle and auxiliary switches, revised wheel designs, and a traditional rectangular Bronco grille

Drive Festival Presented by Mobil 1 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park … And Beyond

Over the weekend of Sept. 6–8, media and Canadian automotive enthusiasts of all ages were invited not only to discover the new Maverick and Bronco Sport but also to experience the thrill of an exhilarating car exhibition with an array of attractions. Attendees were able to explore manufacturers’ displays and test-drives (including Ford and Lincoln), expo exhibits, thrilling ride-alongs, the Mobil 1 Dream Car Speed Run, diverse car collections,  an array of motorcycles, and much more.

“Drive Festival is described as Canada’s ultimate outdoor automotive event – and if we want to meet automotive enthusiasts where they are, this is the place,” said Nelly Cusan, partnerships and events manager, Ford of Canada. “Our participation is all about bringing our distinctive products directly to Ford and Lincoln fans, as well as potential customers, and strengthening those all-important always-on relationships. It’s also a great opportunity for people to test-drive some of our vehicles off-road.”

In addition to the interactive Ford and Lincoln displays, test-drives were offered for the 2024 Ford Maverick TREMOR, 2024 Ford Ranger LARIAT FX4, 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands 2-Door, 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage Edition, 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, and 2023 Lincoln Corsair.

“The debut of the new Maverick and Bronco Sport to Canadian media and attendees at the 4th annual Drive Festival, nicknamed “Canada’s Goodwood,” was made possible through close collaboration with communications and marketing colleagues in Canada and the U.S.,” said Matt Drennan-Scace, communications manager, Ford of Canada.

But the excitement doesn’t end there.

“The Maverick Hybrid AWD and Bronco Sport Outer Banks with Sasquatch Package are marking their way to our offices in Oakville, Ottawa, and Waterloo, and to our plants in Oakville and Windsor as part of the Ford Family Open House events, ensuring Ford of Canada employees can take part in the excitement around these two amazing products,” added Drennan-Scace.

And There Are Donuts

As a part of the event, a short-term collaboration with Maverick’s Donut Company – the fastest-growing donut franchise in Canada – was launched, with Maverick, Maverick Lobo, and Bronco Sport donuts available to the media at the event. Maverick’s also provided “Mini Mavs” samples to attendees throughout the Drive Festival event, leading up to Ford Maverick and Maverick Lobo donuts being sold in their 23 Canadian stores for three weeks – Sept. 9 through Sept. 30.

And just like there is no better value when buying a truck than the Ford Maverick, there will be no better value at Maverick’s Donut Company locations than buying the Ford Maverick donuts. Customers will be encouraged in-store to scan a QR code, which will take them to Canada’s Maverick launch page
