3 Tricks to Boost Your Productivity with MS Teams

Mar 17, 2025

Now that you’re participating in Teams meetings and chats like a pro, it’s time to learn how this powerful tool can help you be more focused and productive while you’re at work. MS Teams offers a lot of functionality for power users, but here are some quick and basic tips to help you start getting the most out of this tool.

1. Create Your Own Quiet Time

MS Teams allows you to reach everyone in a flash if you have a quick question, but sometimes that can be very distracting if you’re the recipient of those messages. If you need to block off some time to focus, simply update your profile status to “Do not disturb.”

On your mobile app, you can avoid those pesky notifications during your off-hours by scheduling “quiet time.” This silences notifications on your mobile devices during certain times or days, helping you preserve your work-life balance.

  • Open the Teams Mobile App on your device

  • Tap on your profile picture or initials

  • Navigate to Notifications.

  • Locate “Block notifications”

  • Tap “During quiet time”

  • Toggle on Quiet hours

  • Set the specific times or days you want to mute notifications
