BUCHAREST, Romania – Ford Romania, together with Ford Philanthropy, Global Giving and the Ford dealer network, has just finished a special mission to deliver over 35 tons of essential food to 750 families from 10 regions of the country.
The #DrivenByGood volunteering action took three weeks to complete and involved personnel from both the Ford National Sales Company in Bucharest and Craiova, as well as Ford Business Solution employees and the Ford dealer network nationwide.
It’s the second successive year the “DrivenByGood caravan has assisted families in Romania. This year, the caravan visited Iași, Brăila, Galați, Constanța, Craiova, Bucharest, Ploiești, Cluj, Oradea and Timișoara.
For #DrivenByGood, Ford Romania and Ford Philanthropy partnered nationally with Rotary Club Craiova Probitas, which managed the logistics behind the purchase and distribution of food to each area.
From there, it was picked up by Ford dealers and delivered to families in a multi-vehicle caravan of Ford vehicles including Rangers and Transits. All told, more than 100 volunteers from Ford and the Ford dealer network took part.
“It is a joy to be able to continue this program in 2025 with the support of Ford Philanthropy, which allowed us to get to the isolated in need communities throughout Romania,” said Roxana Capătă, Ford Romania Services Managing Director.
“I would like to thank everyone involved, namely the Ford Romania team and our Ford dealer network, who contributed logistically, but also to the entire team of volunteers who made the implementation of this project possible.”
